Our UK partner universities cements relations with the Sino-British College

From June 18th to 22nd, Cai Yonglian, Vice President of International Exchange of Shanghai University of Technology and Dean of SBC, was invited to lead a delegation to the University of British Columbia, Liverpool John Moores University, University of Leeds , the University of Huddersfield, the University of Sheffield and Sheffield Hallam University conducted a five-day visit. Mr. Diao Jiewen, Director of the Finance Department of Shanghai University of Technology and member of the Joint Management Committee of SBC, Laura Bishop, Executive Dean of SBC, and Liu Qin, Executive Vice President of SBC and Dean of the School of Foreign Languages, accompanied the delegation. The purpose of this visit is to further expand the SBC' s Sino-foreign cooperative education project, and actively promote the consensus between the college and the UK partner universities in multi-faceted cooperation in student exchanges, teacher exchanges, scientific research cooperation, and dual-degree master programs.

The senior colleagues from Liverpool John Moores University met with the delegation from SBC and extended a warm welcome by Professor Peter Byers, Vice President of Education and Teaching, Liverpool John Moores University on behalf of the College.Professor Peter Byers gave a presentation about Liverpool John Moores University, including the Liverpool John Moores University's discipline strengths and talent development characteristicsmodel of teaching, student achievements and its intercultural education.Following the introduction, the delegation engaged in wide-ranging discussions concerning opportunities in Engineering student training, innovation and entrepreneurship education and international joint laboratory construction between two institutions. After the meeting, College delegation was invited  to experience Liverpool school of Art and Design.

The senior colleagues from University of Leeds met with the delegation from SBC and extended a warm welcome by Professor Yu Haisui, Vice President of International Exchange, University of Leeds on behalf of the College.Professor Yu Haisui gave a presentation about University of Leeds. Following the introduction, the delegation engaged in wide-ranging discussions concerning opportunities in student exchange, research cooperation, language training between two institutions. After the meeting, Professor Yu Haisui invited delegation to experience the University of Leeds. As one of the nine British-sponsored universities of SBC, the University of Leeds actively cooperates with the college for student exchanges. This year, SBC received the first time to participate in the summer school.

During the University of Huddersfield visit, the delegation from SBC extended a warm welcome by Professor Bob Cryan, President of Huddersfield University on behalf of the College.Following the introduction, the delegation engaged in wide-ranging discussions concerning opportunities in cooperative school projects, student exchanges, research cooperation between two institutions. After the meeting, Professor Bob Cryan invited delegation to experience the School of Business, School of Computing and School of Engineering and College of Applied Science.

During the University of Sheffield visit, the delegation from SBC extended a warm welcome by Dr. Malcolm Butler, Vice President of International Exchange, University of Sheffield on behalf of the College.Following the introduction, the delegation engaged in the cooperative school project has conducted in-depth exchanges between two institutions and signed an exchange agreement with SBC . After the meeting, Dr. Malcolm Butler invited delegation to experience the Engineering Experiment Center "Diamond Building".In 2010, SBC jointly established the "Business Management" Sino-foreign cooperative education program with the University of Sheffield. In 2011, it officially enrolled students and trained nearly 250 graduates to become the world's elite business talents. At present, the two sides are actively negotiating the possibility of opening a cooperative education program in the field of engineering.

Finally, the college delegation visited Sheffield Hallam University, Professor Roger Eccleston, Vice President of Research at Sheffield Hallam University, Professor Kevin Kerrigan, Vice President of Business and Entrepreneurship and Dean of Business School, Vice President of International Exchange and Social Sciences Mr. Chris Wigginton, Dean of the School of Humanities, and James Richardson, Director of Global Development and Cooperation, received a warm reception. The two sides held in-depth discussions on cooperation in school projects, student exchanges, teacher exchanges, and scientific research cooperation. After the meeting, the college delegation was invited to visit the business school and art school.

The visit further deepened the exchanges and cooperation between Sino-British International College and five British partner universities, promoted the further development of undergraduate programs in business and engineering, and opened up student exchanges, teacher exchanges, and research at the college level. The cooperation field of the cooperation and double-degree master's program has expanded the scope of the university's education to the outside world based on the original cooperation model.
